The City of Bangor’s Wastewater Treatment Plant, is currently seeking to fill a full-time position of Collection System Technician in the Sewer Maintenance division. The successful candidate will have working knowledge of operations, equipment and maintenance of a sewer collection system. The candidate should have a working knowledge of CCTV video equipment, metal detection, line locator and flow monitoring equipment and ability to use sewer cleaning equipment. The candidate should also have thorough knowledge of state, local and federal safety regulations and knowledge of atmospheric (gas) testing equipment. Working knowledge of current carpentry and masonry practices and procedures preferred. CDL license preferred or must be obtained within one year of employment. Computer skills and knowledge including Access and Excel preferred. Collection System Certification Grade I and NASCCO certification desired or ability to obtain within 18 months of employment. Must have the ability to communicate effectively under stressful situations and ability to recognize proper working procedures and safety requirements, including personal hygiene. Ability to respond to 24-hour-a-day emergency calls.
Salary range is $16.46 to $22.10 per hour with additional stipend for NASCCO PACP/MACP and /or Collection System Certification.
