The Town of Hermon (pop. 5,416) is seeking a qualified, dynamic individual for the full-time position of Town Clerk. This is a high level management position reporting directly to the Town Manager. The Town is seeking an experienced and innovative Town Clerk to take the department to a new level of success, consistent with the high quality services that the Town provides to its residents.
The Town is seeking a Town Clerk with proven experience in municipal elections, vital records, financial management and related leadership and management in a similarly sized local government or the private sector.
The successful candidate will possess a minimum of a high school diploma/GED or a Bachelors Degree in public or business administration or a related field with at least three years of progressively responsible, broad based experience in office administration; or any combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. The successful candidate must have outstanding written and oral communication skills, be a good listener, possess presentation expertise and be familiar with federal and state laws pertaining to motor vehicle registrations, elections and vital records.
