We are seeking a qualified candidate for our Houlton, Maine plant Utility Operator position. Applicant must have good mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities; be able to move/handle 50 pounds without mechanical assistance, climb stairs and ladders, work outdoors, able to wear proper PPE, operate both wastewater treatment and boiler to meet all air and water discharge limits, and work shifts including weekends. Applicant must have a current Maine Class 4 high pressure Boiler Operator License and be willing to get a Maine Waste Treatment License, must be able to read and understand NPDES and Air Permits, and perform daily required testing to maintain compliance with the Boiler and obtain a Waste Treatment license within one year of hire.
The qualified candidate will work in the plant and shop doing maintenance related tasks. The company will provide the necessary training materials for the Waste Treatment License. Must be a team player with good communication skills and strong background in math, chemistry, and Microsoft - Word, Excel, and Outlook. Must be a high school graduate / GED and have three plus years' experience in a manufacturing setting. Additionally, candidate should be able to operate manual machinery such as fork lifts, valves, fire extinguishers, snow blowers, process equipment, etc. as well as working knowledge of hand and power tools. Must have a current State of Maine Driver's License.

Starting compensation is $19.67 per hour increasing to $21.90 after 90-day probationary period.
