Meet and source prospective and existing members to determine Consumer and/or Business loan and deposit needs. Act as the main point of contact for members through the loan process, from application to closing. Achieve loan volume and deposit goals through self-generated leads.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Generate Consumer & Commercial Loan applications – prospect for new business by contacting potential members in person and on the phone to determine their needs. Solicit business based on best solution for the member. Complete and enter the loan application and work with underwriting through final approval. Meet or exceed all established sales goals.
Follow-up on existing applications in pipeline – Work with internal partners, such as underwriting, loan servicing, etc. to move loan applications to closing. Efficiently and accurately answer all member inquiries during the loan application process.
Servicing of existing members – Serve as the member’s contact at the credit union even after the loan has closed and funds have been distributed. Periodically following-up with the member for additional opportunities and referrals.
Membership Involvement – strong community involvement, ability to build partnerships with local businesses and organizations, flexibility to work branch hours including some weekends and evenings.
Branch Team work – assisting branch as needed with all member related duties.
- Education: High school degree required. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or related field preferred.
Experience: 3-5 years Retail Banking sales experience, including taking loan applications, and prospecting for new business. Must be able to data mine, source new leads and close the sale.
Sales Goals: Must be able to meet, and hopefully exceed, all established lending and deposit sales goals
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, excellent probing, analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Demonstrated commitment to operational integrity, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements; knowledge and interest in connecting members to available technology.
Other Skills: Proficiency using Word and Excel.
Must have strong multi-tasking ability, Compliance with Dodd Frank/Truth in Lending Act
NMLS registration required
Ability to meet members and arrive at prospect locations.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment: May lift up to 20 lbs.; Office work; ability to sit for long periods of time in front of a computer. Must have a valid driver’s license to meet members and satisfy their loan needs at locations convenient to the member.
