Job Overview:
We are seeking a Heavy Equipment and Truck Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair a variety of heavy equipment, trucks, and vehicles. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge and experience in maintaining and repairing heavy trucks & equipment, ensuring their safe and efficient operation. We are open to candidates with specialization towards either the truck side or the equipment side, looking to grow.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnosis and Repair: Conduct diagnostic tests to identify issues, troubleshoot problems, and perform repairs on heavy equipment and trucks.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, lubrication, and inspections to ensure optimal performance and longevity of machinery.
- Repair Services: Complete mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repairs.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of repairs and parts used for all equipment serviced.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all repairs and maintenance adhere to safety standards and regulations.
- Equipment Testing: Conduct tests and performance checks after repairs to ensure proper functionality before returning equipment to service.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other mechanics and support staff to streamline operations and maintain an organized work environment.
- Tool Maintenance: Ensure all tools and equipment are well-maintained, calibrated, and in good working condition.
Requirements:
- Experience: Proven experience 3 years minimum working as a heavy equipment and truck mechanic, preferably in a similar industry or environment is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy machinery, trucks, and related systems.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and welding/fabrication techniques.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications or licenses (e.g., ASE Certification, Maine State Commercial Vehicle Inspection License) are desirable but not required.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to lift heavy equipment parts, work in varying weather conditions, and perform duties in physically demanding environments.
- Problem-solving: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze issues and implement effective solutions.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Communication: Good communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors.
