About Prospect, Maine: Prospect, first settled in 1759, is a town of about 700 residents. We border several miles of the tidal Penobscot River where it opens to the Penobscot bay, and we are home to historic Fort Knox and the foot of the Penobscot Narrows Bridge. Prospect literally bridges the midcoast and downeast. With a distinctly rural feel, and a strong ethic of community and mutual aid, we are 5 minutes from Bucksport, 20 min. from Belfast, and 30 min. from Bangor. We are one of the last small, affordable, quiet rural communities on the Maine coast.
Prospect is an equal opportunity employer.
