Research Administration Coordinator
The Research Administration Coordinator is responsible for overseeing administrative operations and providing management and support for the Center for Applied Research in Education and Schools (CARES) and for non-CARES-related funded research projects within the College while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines and facilitating the efficient execution of research initiatives.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND ADMINISTRATION

Manages administrative operations for CARES
-
Manages research and/or CARES email accounts and calendars
-
Manages and/or coordinates research and/or CARES space, equipment, technology, and/or supplies
-
Serves as project manager and manages workflow for one or more funded research projects
-
Coordinates project events and meetings as assigned
RESEARCH AND INFORMATION MANAGEMENT
-
Maintains a list of upcoming proposal due dates identified by College and/or CARES leadership as opportunities of interest.

In conjunction with Grants and Contracts Coordinator, develops and maintains templates for commonly-used proposal elements including but not limited to: budget, budget justification, descriptions of senior personnel, descriptions of project management approaches, descriptions of facilities, and data management plans.

Undertakes research about past funding and current priorities for identified opportunities of interest.

Develops and maintains systems for tracking graduate assistant and postdoc placements (including processing or supporting the processing of required paperwork)

Manages data collection and/or analysis for one or more funded research projects

Coordinates data management and archiving for research projects conducted under College and/or CARES auspices
-
Provides formative and summative reporting in support of one or more funded projects
-
Independently conducts activities related to approved research approach-- including (but not limited to) data collection, recruitment, data analysis, data management, and dissemination

Ensure projective activities are aligned with approved IRB-- updating as needed
-
Ensures project is conducted in a manner consistent with established workflow and/or archival practices
PROPOSAL DEVELOPMENT AND SUBMISSION

Coordinates with College- or University-wide offices / personnel involved in grants submission and supports convening and coordination of multi-disciplinary interest groups

Manages internal (e.g., PARS, Kuali) and external submission (e.g., Research.gov, Fastlane) processes

Assists in the customization of proposal templates for project-specific needs

Provides project management for due dates and needed work for proposal submissions

Supports proposal development support teams for large, center-like awards as well as individual investigator awards

Designs and implements initiatives to support faculty grant writing efforts

Provides formative and summative reporting in support of one or more funded projects
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
-
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
-
Prior experience with project management, research data collection, and/or research data management
-
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a collaborative environment and provide leadership conducive to consensus building and teamwork
-
Ability to work under pressure to meet both internal and external deadlines and respond in a timely manner to requests from university officials and external agencies
-
Ability to effectively present information in group settings
-
Excellent oral and written communication skills and computer fluency required
-
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
-
Ability to travel in state, region, and nationally for job-related purposes
Preferred:
-
Experience in a university-based research setting
-
Demonstrated success with the grant writing process
Position Type: Full-time, Soft Money with reappointment contingent on external funding and successful performance.
